On Thursday 2 July, we welcomed UNIQLO to the Fashion Loop at Karrinyup Shopping Centre, another milestone for the centre’s $800 million development.

UNIQLO opened its doors to over 200 customers with an official ribbon-cutting ceremony and a  traditional Japanese drumming performance. The celebrations continued over the weekend with live entertainment including DJs and live art, along with complimentary treats, giveaways, competitions, styling sessions and sales-driving initiatives.

Kensuke Suwa, Chief Operating Officer, UNIQLO Australia noted, “We look forward to becoming a positive part of the local community, providing our range of well designed, high-quality everyday essentials to those in the area. Given the current environment, we are also excited to be able to add around 50 new jobs to the Western Australian economy.”

AMP Capital’s Divisional Development Manager WA, Scott Nugent, agreed “We are delighted to celebrate UNIQLO’s opening at Karrinyup Shopping Centre, a brand that we know our customers love. The addition of large-format international retailers such as UNIQLO to our centre will not only add to the vibrancy of the space, but will also position Karrinyup as one of Perth’s leading fashion and lifestyle destinations.”

This is UNIQLO’s third Perth store and their first store opening in Australia for 2020. The development of Karrinyup Shopping Centre will see the centre almost double in size and is set for completion at the end of 2021.
