Australian fashion and beauty icon Elle Ferguson recently visited Karrinyup to kick off a four-day fashion and beauty extravaganza as part of the centre’s first development launch, which included a number of eye-catching installations, free pop-up activities, fashion experiences and in-store offers for customers to enjoy.
AMP Capital’s Divisional Development Manager – WA, Scott Nugent, said the launch is an exciting milestone for the major $800 million Karrinyup Shopping Centre development and he was thrilled welcome Elle Ferguson to the centre as part of the celebrations.
“Elle has cemented herself as one of Australia’s leading fashion and beauty icons and her aesthetic is perfectly aligned with Karrinyup’s inspiring retail offering, so she was a natural choice to help us celebrate this exciting new chapter in the evolution of the centre.
“We hope customers enjoyed discovering the new retailers, revamped locations for existing stores and all the activities we have planned, this is just a small taste of the exciting things to come as the centre continues to evolve”, said Mr Nugent.
The launch saw high-profile international fashion retailers H&M and Swarovski join the centre, alongside an expanded location for premium Australian beauty retailer MECCA.
Ferguson hosted an exclusive preview shopping event the night before opening. A mix of local stakeholders, social influencers and competition winners gathered in the recently refurbished colonnade forecourt to hear Ferguson’s styling tips and insights into her successful beauty and fashion brand, before entering into H&M before the general public. In addition to the new retailers, a number of other specialty retailers including kikki.K and The Body Shop were relocated to the first section of the new-look Fashion Loop, sparking the centre’s transformation into a more sophisticated, inspirational retail experience for Karrinyup customers.
Over the launch weekend, the centre played host to a variety of activities, activations and promotions to feature the centre’s strong existing tenancy mix. Ferguson also presented a styling session, showcasing the latest fashion trends available from Karrinyup’s new and existing retailers.
The Fashion Loop will open in its entirety in late 2020. It is a significant element of the overall development which on completion will offer approximately 290 specialty stores including high-quality local, national and international fashion retailers, an extensive food and beverage offering, new Coles and ALDI supermarkets and a state-of-the-art 10 screen HOYTS cinema.
The opening of the first section of the Fashion Loop is the first unveiling of the reimagined centre, with the entire development on target to be completed at the end of 2021.‹ Back To News
